The resident photographer of the Philippine Working Group is a certified outdoor person. Ruel Piezas Amarillo, commonly called Poloy by friends and associates, hails from Davao City, Philippines. While photography is one of his more important hobbies, Poloy is also engaged in rock climbing, ultimate frisbee, kayaking, diving, back-packing, and traveling. A sport climber instructor, open water diver, and a volunteer Rope Rescue Technician of the Philippine National Red Cross, Poloy has already climbed a number of mountains in the Philippines, including the country’s highest peak, Mt. Apo. His favourite photography themes include people and landscapes. He currently works at the Davao Wildwater Adventure, Inc.
