August 2016 – Rodolfo Lastimosa accepts the position of ICDR Philippines Coordinator.


July 2016 – ICDR Philippines leaders were recognized during the annual University of Toronto Physical Therapy Recognition Award: Jacquelin Rotella, Charissa Aborot, Sharon Mauhya-Gallardo, and Maria (Bunny) Claveria. Well done!



December 5, 2015 – ICDR Philippines holds its annual end-of-the-year gathering.

November 26, 2015 – ICDR Philippines was part of the University of Toronto participants in welcoming the delegate from the Philippines that included representatives from  the Commission of Higher Education and the various leaders of Philippine universities (including three presidents).

November 2015 – Dr. Pamela Levangie, co-author of the book "Joint Structure and Function," accepts the invitation to be the 2017 Lecturer.


October 2015 – Five occupational therapy students from the University of Toronto leave for Manila for their 5-week placement.

October 24, 2015 – ICDR Philippines successfully organized its fundraising gala dinner, "Dinner of Hope." Congratulations to Dr. Stephanie Nixon for being the recipient of the 2015 Apolinario Mabini Award!

ICDR Philippines congratulates Jane Santiago-Falmarin for being voted as the "2015 Most Admired ICDR Philippines Member."

August 2015 – Jestine (Speech and Language Pathology student at the University of Toronto) leaves for Laguna, Philippines for her 5-week placement at the Autism Society of the Philippines. She is joined by Elysia from Simon Fraser University who will be volunteering for the same organization.

July 2015 – ICDR Philippines holds its annual summer gathering in Newmarket, ON.

July 2015 – The 2015 Call for Proposals competition is now on!

May 2015 — ICDR Philippines was invited by the Office of the Prime Minister of Canada to attend the Welcome Ceremony for President Benigno Aquino as he visits Toronto, Canada.

February 2015 —- Four successful projects have been approved by ICDR Philippines from the 2014 Call for Proposals:
                           1. Paulin Morato (Faculty, University of Santo Tomas – Manila)
                           2. Pedaling to Live and Green Shelter Inc (Ozamiz City)
                           3. Bethsaida CBR Services for the Disabled Inc (Candelaria, Quezon Province)
                           4. Simon of Cyrene (Daraga, Albay)

January 2015 — ICDR Philippines will receive a team recognition award from the PT Department of the University of Toronto. Likewise, the Vice-Chairs of ICDR Philippines will also receive the recognition award for their contribution to the department: Regina Balisi(Finance), Cristina Abadiano and Jovylyn Ronquillo (Education), Juvy Alix (Community Projects), and Jane Santiago-Falmarin(Fundraising).

July 2014 –  Zachary, an MScPT student from the University of Toronto, is starting his 5-week pediatric physiotherapy clinical placement in Manila. This placement has been made possible through the collaboration of the Philippine Physical Therapy Association, REACH Foundation, and Quality Life Discoveries.

June 2014 –  ICDR Philippines congratulates Jovylyn Ronquillo, VC Education, for her appointment as Adjunct  Lecturer, Physical Therapy Department at the University of Toronto.

May 2014 – Jefrey Andrion is one of the recipients of the Schulich Award for Clinical Excellence, the highest award of Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in Toronto, Canada.

March 2014: Cristina Abadiano accepts the position of Co-VC Education, ICDR Philippines. Congratulations Tina!

The Anti-Spam Law

On July 1, 2014, the Government of Canada will enter into full force the "Anti-Spam Law." Essentially, this law will require organizations to ask for consent when sending electronic messages. Charitable organizations, such as ICDR Philippines, are not covered under this law: https://www.ic.gc.ca/eic/site/ecic-ceac.nsf/eng/gv00521.html#q12 .

In addition, if you have been supporting the educational activities of ICDR Philippines, such as the Lecture Day, your written consent to be contacted for future lecture events was asked at the time of registration.
